Hi everyone. My name is Paula, and I am from Beyond the Maze.  We are a Virtual Assistant business based in Australia, offering both onshore, in Australia, and offshore, in the Philippines, services to help you grow and scale your business. 

Today’s topic is about going on holidays when you are the boss and how you can set yourself and your business up to be able to get away and do what you need to do. 

Here at Beyond the Maze, we have a number of clients that we work with who come to us and say, “Oh, I don’t need you all the time, but I would like to take a break from my business, and I don’t want to be answering the phone during that time”.  Which is fair enough, especially if you’re going overseas, right? 

If you’re going overseas, you don’t want the drama of having to organise a phone that you can answer over there.  Then if you’re in a different time zone entirely, chances are that phone is going to ring when you’re trying to sleep.  That’s not ideal, because it won’t get answered anyway. After all, you’ll probably turn it off because you’ll have enough of it. 

How can a VA or a virtual assistant help you with that? 

What we can do is set up a limited package for you.  All that might do is answer your phone while you are away.  We can also answer emails.  We can do anything you need us to do! 

We can send invoices out if that’s what you need us to do as well, or whatever you want us to do to make sure your business keeps moving while you’re on holiday.  You might be a sole business owner where you work on your own.  You don’t have staff to fall back on, so that makes it hard to get away from your business because you are the person who needs to be contacted for your business. 

Using a virtual assistant is a really simple process to do.  All you have to do is contact us.  Have a chat with Shay about what you need, what you require for when you’re going away, and how long you’re going away for. Then we can talk about things like answering a phone, answering your emails or following clients up. 

If you’ve got an appointment-based business, we can follow the clients up a week before you’re due to come back to make sure they’re booked in and ready to go when you come back – you could hit the ground running!  We can field any other calls that come in.  We can make sure your business is still running day to day. 

We can also do your social media.  We can do some marketing, like newsletters and direct emails and all that sort of thing, just to make sure your business keeps moving forward while you go and have a great time doing whatever you want. 

You set out to create a lifestyle in business.  Why not enjoy that time off and enjoy that time with your family, where you don’t have to take time out of the day to check your emails or return phone calls or anything like that?
